Depending on your institution, one of the following definitions apply:

  • A unit of teaching delivery, characterised by a common subject matter. The teaching of a module's subject matter is delivered to students through a collection of activities. If the module has activity templates associated with it, the activities that are needed to accommodate students enrolled on the module can be generated from the templates. A module can represent one of multiple offerings of a course.
  • A set of teaching that students enrol to receive. A section represents each offering of the module. However, in Enterprise Foundation, the activities within each section are all part of the module.

In your locale, the following education sector terms are equivalent: unit, course, subject area, module offering
