grant (verb)

  1. To assign a permission to a user, in Authorisation Manager. For example, the administrator can grant a timetabler the permission to break constraints that prevent the double-booking of locations.
  2. To approve a request for the use of a resource, in Enterprise Timetabler. If Enterprise Timetabler allocates resources that the user has request permission on, then those allocations are subject to approval, and requests for their use are generated. For example, a user might have request permissions on resources that are not owned by their department. Requests can be approved by users who have full permission on the resource.
