Create an activity filter

Another way to load activities into the Activities pane is to find activities that match search criteria that you enter. For example, you can find unscheduled activities that have a real size within a specified range.

Create an activity filter (click the image to expand it)

To use the activity filter, follow these steps:

  1. In the menu at the top of the Views pane, click Activity Filter (see 1, above).
  2. To add filter criteria, click a tab (2), expand a group (3), then enter filter details (4). For example, click General, expand the Size group, click Real Size, then enter values into the boxes. You can add several criteria to the filter; an activity that passes the filter must satisfy all the criteria. A filter icon on the tabs indicates which tabs contain filter criteria.
  3. Click Apply Filter (5). Activities that satisfy the filter are loaded into the Activities pane.

Save an activity filter

You can save an activity filter, and load it again at a later time. This facility is valuable if your filter is complex and involves many criteria, because manually creating that filter each time you want to use it would require you to exactly remember the filter criteria, then individually add them to the filter.

To save a filter, click the Save button (see 6, above) at the bottom of the Views pane. Then, in the Save As window, select a location, enter a file name, then click Save.

To load a filter, click the Load button (7). Then, in the Open window, select the filter that you want to load, then click Open. To apply the loaded filter, click Apply Filter (5).
