Control user access to data and features

Depending on your institution, some users in a multi-user Enterprise Timetabler implementation do not require access to all timetable and resource data. Additionally, some users might require access only to booking mode, because they are resource administrators rather than timetablers.

For example, an institution might have a central timetabling team and departmental timetabling teams. A departmental team might have no right to allocate resources that do not belong to that department. Security permissions can implement a corresponding data restriction in Enterprise Timetabler, so that when a departmental user starts the application, only resources that belong to their department appear in the user interface. Data security permission are administered in Authorisation Manager.

Furthermore, a department might contain an administrator who creates bookings for department resources. Their data security permission can be combined with application security permissions, so that they have access only to booking mode. Consequently, they can book only resources owned by their department. Application security permissions are administered in Authorisation Manager.
