Pooled resources are a set of resources that are not individually identified, and of which several items might be required for an activity, possibly in ratio to the number of students. For example, a biology practical might require one microscope for every two students. A sufficient number of items from the pool are allocated to the activity.
In the example below, the Microscope pooled resource consists of 50 microscopes. The microscopes are owned by the central Estates department, but are shared with the Science department.
