Customise toolbars

You can add, remove, and move buttons on toolbars in Enterprise Desktop Reference Data Manager. Also, you can hide entire toolbars.

To show or hide a toolbar, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click any toolbar. Enterprise Desktop Reference Data Manager displays a menu that lists all toolbars. Toolbars that are currently displayed are ticked.
  2. To hide a displayed toolbar, or to display a hidden toolbar, click the corresponding menu item.

To remove a button, follow these steps. You can either hide the button, or permanently remove it from the toolbar. If you hide it, you can quickly display it again if necessary. If you remove it, you can add it again, but the process takes a little longer than displaying a hidden button.

  • To hide a button, or display a hidden button, follow these steps:
    1. Click the down-arrow at the end of the toolbar that contains the button (see 1, below).
    2. Point to Add or Remove Buttons, then in the menu that is displayed, point to the name of the toolbar. Enterprise Desktop Reference Data Manager displays a menu that lists toolbar buttons.
    3. To hide a displayed button or display a hidden button, in the menu, click the corresponding button.

  • To remove a button, follow these steps.
    1. Right-click the toolbar that you want to modify.
    2. Click Customize. The Customization window opens.
    3. Drag the button from the toolbar to the Customization window. Release the left mouse button when the pointer is over the Customization window. The button is removed from the toolbar.

To add a button, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the toolbar that you want to modify.
  2. Click Customize. The Customization window opens.
  3. Click the Commands tab.
  4. The Commands list (see 1, below) contains the buttons that you can add to the toolbar. Find the button in the list, then drag it to a toolbar. Release the left mouse button when the pointer at an appropriate position in the toolbar. A black line (2) indicates where the button will be added.

To move a toolbar button, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the toolbar that you want to modify.
  2. Click Customize. The Customization window opens.
  3. In the toolbar, drag the button to a new position. A black line indicates where the button will be added.
