Choose or create a usage pattern
You can specify the periods that the activity should occur during. This is a preference from the perspective of the activity. Other resources that are allocated to the activity, and the activity and its module, might have their own preferred periods; scheduling preferences inspecify the influence that each of them have on the activity's start time.
You set the usage pattern in the same way as the preferred starts pattern.
However, the difference between them is that Enterprise Timetabler takes the usage pattern into account throughout the entire duration of the activity, when it calculates the "best" timetable position for the activity. Conversely, Enterprise Timetabler takes the starts preference pattern into account only at the activity start time.
You can use shades of green to indicate a preference for using particular periods, or shades of red to indicate that particular periods should be avoided.
