Module host key
The host key is designed for the scenario where an object is owned by a third party system but may be named differently in Enterprise Course Planner. The host key is the unique identifier of the module, in the system that owns module data. If that is a third party system, the host key enables Enterprise Course Planner to be linked to that system. The module referred to in Enterprise Course Planner can be linked to a module that exists in the third party system.
If you create a module but do not specify a host key, it is assumed that Enterprise Course Planner owns the module data. To identify the module, Enterprise Course Planner will generate a unique host key (in the following format: #SPLUS<hex number>).
If you manually specify a host key then it will be used if it is unique. If it is not unique, an auto-generated host key will be used instead.
